Online doesn't mean out of reach.
You will have a named adviser who knows your business, and you will be able to reach them when it matters — by phone, video or email.
A named adviser. Not a ticket number.
Some questions can wait for your quarterly review. Others need answering before you sign a contract, hire someone, or commit to a lease. We make sure the second kind never sits in a queue.
These are the commitments we make to every client, and they are the reason our clients rarely miss having an office to visit.
- 01A dedicated adviser
The same qualified accountant from onboarding onwards, who knows your business without needing to re-read the file.
- 02A direct line
Reach your adviser without being passed around a general enquiries desk.
- 03Same working day response
Calls and emails received during business hours are answered before the day is out.
- 04Talk however suits you
Phone, video call or email — whichever is quickest for you on the day.
- 05Covered when they are away
A second adviser who already knows your file, so holidays and illness do not stall your work.
- 06Available through busy periods
Reachable through year-end, VAT quarters and self-assessment season, when it matters most.
From first call to first report, in five steps.
Onboarding is handled remotely and usually completes within two to four weeks, most of which is waiting on third parties rather than on us.
- 01An initial conversation
Twenty to thirty minutes on the phone or a video call. You describe the business and what prompted the enquiry; we tell you what we would suggest, what it would cost, and whether we are the right fit. There is no charge and no obligation.
- 02A written proposal
A clear scope of work with a fixed monthly fee, so you can see exactly what is included before you decide. Nothing begins until you have accepted it.
- 03Engagement and checks
We issue an engagement letter setting out our respective responsibilities, and complete the identity and anti-money-laundering checks the law requires of every UK accountancy practice. If you are moving from another accountant, we write to them for professional clearance and your records — you do not need to have that conversation yourself.
- 04Setting up your software
We work in your existing cloud accounting platform where you have one, or set one up and migrate your records where you do not. Bank feeds are connected, opening balances agreed, and secure document sharing put in place.
- 05Your first reporting cycle
Your first management report or return is produced, and we talk it through with you rather than emailing a PDF and hoping for the best. From there, work runs on an agreed and predictable cycle.
What working with an online practice is actually like.
The practical differences from a traditional high-street accountant, stated plainly.
Practical questions about working remotely.
What if I would rather just phone than use software?
Then phone. The software exists to keep your records accurate and current, not to replace talking to us. Plenty of our clients barely log in and rely on their adviser to tell them what the numbers mean — that is a perfectly reasonable way to work, and it is why the direct line matters.
How quickly will someone actually get back to me?
Calls and emails received during business hours, Monday to Friday between 09:00 and 18:00, are answered the same working day. If your adviser is with another client when you call, you will either be able to speak to the colleague covering your file or receive a call back — not be left with an unreturned voicemail.
Is my financial data safe?
Your records are held in established cloud accounting platforms with encryption and access controls, and we exchange documents through secure channels rather than ordinary email where the content is sensitive. Access is limited to the advisers who need it. Our Privacy Policy sets out in full what we hold, why, and how long we keep it.
Do I need to change accounting software to work with you?
Usually not. We work in the main cloud platforms including Xero, QuickBooks and Sage, and if you already use one we will work in it. We would only suggest a change if your current setup is genuinely holding the business back, and we would explain why before doing anything.
What happens if I want to leave?
You can end the engagement in line with the notice period in your engagement letter. We will provide your incoming accountant with professional clearance and hand over your records promptly. Your data belongs to you, and we do not make leaving difficult.
What if something goes wrong?
Speak to your adviser first, as most issues are resolved in a single conversation. If that does not settle it, our complaints procedure is set out in our Terms of Business, including who to escalate to and the timescales we work to.
Start with a conversation.
Twenty minutes on the phone is usually enough to tell whether we are the right practice for your business. There is no charge and no obligation.
